Asbestos Consulting

Asbestos is present in a wide variety of building material products, including fireproofing, pipe and boiler insulation, ceiling tiles, vinyl flooring, decorative and acoustic texture coats, drywall and plaster, mastics, electrical wiring insulation and laboratory equipment. Many of these materials can release small airborne fibres into the air when disturbed, resulting in a potential health hazard.

Exposure Control Plan

The B.C. Workers' Compensation Board Occupational Health and Safety Regulation controls all aspects of work involving asbestos products. Typically, building owners or managers are required to identify and document all asbestos containing building materials in an Exposure Control Plan.

An Exposure Control Plan must include:
Worker training
Exposure air monitoring
Written Work Procedures
A Risk Assessment specific to the building
