Industrial standards
for air quality have existed for many years and the WCB Occupational Health
and Safety Regulations now require building owners and employers alike to provide
a safe and comfortable working environment for workers. Minimum comfort requirements
are defined and must be provided and maintained by an efficient ventilation system
and employers are required to document and investigate indoor air quality related
complaints.
Pacific Environmental
has conducted many complex and varied indoor air quality audits and assessments
to date, including commercial buildings, educational institutions and research
facilities.
Factors such
as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, temperature and relative humidity are
commonly monitored. In more complex audits, other pollutants such as volatile
organic compounds, nuisance dust and bioaerosols are collected and analyzed.
