Industrial
hygiene is primarily concerned with the control of occupational health hazards
that arise during or as a result of work. It can be described as "the science
to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control all environmental factors arising
in or from the workplace which have the potential to cause discomfort, sickness,
injury or otherwise impair the health or well-being of workers".
