Laboratory Services

With over 50,000 analytical samples logged into our database, our in-house laboratory boasts the highest level of experience and expertise in analysis for asbestos in both bulk and air samples.

For asbestos analysis in bulk samples we follow the US NIOSH Method 9002 which involves analysis using Polarized Light Microscopy, requiring a high level of skill and expertise. At Pacific Environmental we currently employ six analysts in this area, four of whom have over ten years laboratory experience.

Our in-house laboratory boasts the highest level of experience and expertise.

For the analysis of fibres in air we follow the US NIOSH Method 7400. This method uses Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) and we currently have eight analysts skilled in this area.

With the demise of the WCB Laboratory Services Asbestos Proficiency Testing Program from March 31st 2002, we have expanded our laboratory services to further serve the industry by offering refresher courses for both bulk and air sample analysis to companies and analysts who previously used the WCB Laboratory for quality control.
