Once again
another year has slipped by and with the help and confidence exhibited
by our clients Pacific continues to grow in the BC marketplace. The
environmental consulting industry is changing and adapting to the new
challenges and Pacific continues to be at the forefront of these
changes. We are currently involved in a WorkSafe BC industry group
discussing the planned updating of the lead exposure guidelines and this,
together with silica exposure and other workplace exposures will in our
opinion, be the focus of the regulatory process for 2010.
Our
staff continues to grow and develop with a number of our people expected
to challenge the Canadian Registered Safety Professional and
Professional Engineers examinations this year with the full support of
the company. It is important to Pacific that staff continue to grow and
develop, not only for personal or corporate reasons but to ensure that
we remain a leader in our field by having well trained professional
staff who are up to date with current industry issues and solutions.
This
year our fungal laboratory proved to be a great success with our
clients, and our ability to respond quickly to client needs certainly
ensured that there were no unnecessary delays in waiting for analytical
results through regular service providers. On January 4th we again
expanded our services by adding a full time asbestos bulk analytical
laboratory in the Langley office, again improving service and response
time to our clients and potential clients going forward.
The past
two years have been a difficult time for service providers and while
Pacific has weathered the storms better than most, we are hopeful that
the economy will turn around in 2010 and ensure that all consultants can
consolidate and retain the pool of experience and knowledge that has
built up in the industry over the past few years. I
also sincerely hope that all of our clients have a prosperous and happy
2010."
Best
wishes for 2010 from all the staff at Pacific Environmental! |
