The causal link between workplace hazards and disease has been recognized since the time of Hippocrates (2,400 years ago). As a consequence, most governments have enacted Workplace Legislation and associated Health and Safety Regulations. An essential part of current legislation is the education and training of workers involved in the hazardous materials industry.
